Good morning and welcome to St Barnabas Stoke – if you are visiting today we hope you encounter God’s goodness and love for you as you join us in worshiping Him. Please feel free to stick around afterwards for a coffee and a chat.

What an awesome term we have had at St B’s Youth Group!

It’s been wonderful to have to regular help of leaders such as Nicky Scott, Theo Greenwood and Josh Munro, allowing me to do more with our youth program than is possible for just one person!

Nicky has been the one responsible for all our delicious baking, and she does so much of the behind the scenes work. Josh and Theo have been awesome at running games and handling whatever task I throw their way (even while they are preparing for their final exams and year 13 graduation!)

We started the term with our Blackout night playing games such as Spotlight around Isel Park, and spoke about Jesus being the light which overcomes all darkness. Our ever-popular Girls Night saw several new girls come along to youth! We ate from the chocolate fountain, played silly games and talked about how valuable each of them are. Ball Games night was a real hit with loads of high energy games such as Dodgeball. Collab was a fun combined youth group outing to Flip Out. World Records night was hilarious, with challenges such as ‘Who can eat the most jelly with chopsticks?’ Josh Munro led an awesome discussion on how each person has been given skills and abilities by God to be used for his glory and kingdom. The Cause at New Life Church was the highlight of the term for those that came, with worship, games, a stirring message and a great response of youth committing and recommitting their lives to God. It was our overwhelming joy to see one of the young boys who come to our Friday night youth give his life to God for the first time!

Please pray for him as he begins this journey, and for us as a youth group as we seek to disciple him. Our term finished with a relaxed end of term bonfire with spotlight and smores. On every other fortnight our youth group goes to ‘The Sauce’ at All Saints church for a smaller combined youth group, which we love!

Our youth group continues to pray for the family of one of the girls in our youth group whose house burnt down. Not having insurance, they lost everything. Please join us in praying and supporting them!

We look forward to Spring Camp with great anticipation! Thank you to everyone who has donated money to this so far and who have supported our fundraisers. This money will go towards paying for those who would struggle to go along, such as this girl who was in the fire. Please continue to donate, support, and pray for us.

Many Blessings!

Georgia
