The Inside Column 11/9

Good morning and a very warm welcome to you. We invite you to join us after the service for a hot drink and fellowship.

Thank you to all the people that helped with the breakfast last week, it was a special time together. Bishop Richard spoke on the journey that is
Discipleship, following Peter’s life and asking the question when was Peter saved?

If you were not here last week Richard announced that Luke will be ordained later this year, and will be doing his Curacy with us at St Barnabas. This is great news and we look forward to seeing Luke growing into all that God has called him and his family into.

We are now gearing up for the church fair, on Saturday 29 October. There will be more information coming out over the next couple of weeks. The sign up book will be in the foyer. Please put you name down where you think you might be able to help on the day. There are lots of different things we can all help with. The Church Fair, when the weather is good, is a lot of fun and a great way for us as the church to get to know people from both congregations and the community. We will be looking for people to bring in baking for the cake stall, and of course if you have white Elephant stuff you can drop items off at the church hall. We will be having our grocery raffle so if you can bring a food items in over the next couple of weeks that would be very helpful as well. The church fair is always a lot of fun so put the dates in your diary today.

Here is a little something to encourage us all today

1    Sing to the Lord a new song,
for he has done marvellous things;
his right hand and his holy arm
have worked salvation for him.
2   The Lord has made his salvation known
and revealed his righteousness to the nations.
3   He has remembered his love
and his faithfulness to Israel;
all the ends of the earth have seen
the salvation of our God.
4   Shout for joy to the Lord, all the earth,
burst into jubilant song with music;
5   make music to the Lord with the harp,
with the harp and the sound of singing,
6   with trumpets and the blast of the ram’s horn –
shout for joy before the Lord, the King.
7   Let the sea resound, and everything in it,
the world, and all who live in it.
8   Let the rivers clap their hands,
let the mountains sing together for joy;
9   let them sing before the Lord,
for he comes to judge the earth.
He will judge the world in righteousness
and the peoples with equity.
- Psalm 98

Yours in Christ

Phil
