Good morning and a very warm welcome to you.  We invite you to join us after the service for a hot drink and fellowship.

Today is Pentecost. We would normally be focusing on  Acts 2,  the great day when the Holy Spirit came on the first disciples, wind and fire,  fulfilling the promise that Jesus had made that He would not leave the disciples alone but would send them a helper, a comforter and a guide.

We have been working our way through Acts examining  the work and the power of the Holy Spirit as were filled with the Spirit to do the mission that they were all called for – to take the message of the Good news of Jesus to the ends of the earth. It is my hope that we have been making the link, that we to are called into this mission and that we to have access to the same Power through the Holy Spirit, to take the message about Jesus to all the world.

Talking about taking the good news to all the world, next week Steve Maina will be preaching at both services. Steve is the head of CMS (Church Missionary Society) one of our mission partners, through AMB (Anglican Mission Board), and has a great passion to see the local church play it roll in world mission.

Next Sunday 22 May we start a new family ministry course, called the Parenting Course . The parenting Couse is a five week course to equip parents and carers of children aged 0-10 years old with long term strategies and practical tools to build a healthy family. Topics include building strong foundations, meeting our children’s needs, setting boundaries, teaching healthy relationships and more.

The Course is an informative and fun DVD based programme where dessert is served that includes filmed clips of parents and children sharing their own experiences, street interviews and advice from parenting experts. There is time to discuss the challenges you are facing and how to establish long term strategies for your own family. The Parenting Children Course is based on Christian principles; it is designed for parents and carers with or without a Christian faith. It starts at 7.00pm and costs $20 per couple which includes supper and course manuals.

Yours in Christ,

Philip
