The Inside Column 20/3

Good morning and a warm welcome to all. If you are visiting with us today, we would love to get to know you. Please feel free to stay for a hot drink after the service.

Over the last four weeks we have been focusing on worship and what it might look like for us to become a community, a body that worships God deeply together. Today we are going to break away from what we would normally do and give some of this worship stuff a go.

The Psalm for the week is Psalm 146

1 Praise the Lord. Praise the Lord, my soul.

2 I will praise the Lord all my life; I will sing

praise to my God as long as I live.

3 Do not put your trust in princes, in human

beings, who cannot save.

4 When their spirit departs, they return to the

ground; on that very day their plans come

to nothing.

5 Blessed are those whose help is the God

of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their

God.

6 He is the Maker of heaven and earth, the

sea, and everything in them — he remains

faithful forever.

7 He upholds the cause of the oppressed

and gives food to the hungry. The Lord

sets prisoners free,

8the Lord gives sight to the blind,

the Lord lifts up those who are bowed

down, the Lord loves the righteous.

9 The Lord watches over the foreigner

and sustains the fatherless and the widow,

but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.

10The Lord reigns forever, your God, O Zion,

for all generations. Praise the Lord.

Next week is Easter, we will be having a combined service starting with breakfast at 9.00am. All are welcome. Some of our youth are heading of down to Easter camp with a couple of thousand other youth from around the south. It would be great if we were all praying for our young people as they away, that they will encounter the true living God, and for safe travel. If you would like to help with a donation to get our young people to camp that would be much appreciated.

Well done to all those that put on the Banquet in the Vines last weekend, it is a lot of work, and you do an amazing job year after year to raise money for those that are in need.  Thanks also to those who supported the event by going to it. They raised just under four thousand dollars; it is incredible to think about how much can be achieved when a small group of people work together for a common goal. You girls are amazing!

Yours in Christ

Philip
