Good morning and a warm welcome to all. If you are visiting with us today, we would love to get to know you. Please feel free to stay for a hot drink after the service.

Last week we started a short series on worship, we don’t have to look far to find the bible ]contains some amazing acts of worship, and the Psalm are a great places for us to start.

Here is Psalm 46 from the Message:

God is a safe place to hide, ready to help when we need him. We stand fearless at the cliff-edge of doom, courageous in sea storm and earthquake, Before the rush and roar of oceans, the tremors that shift mountains.

Jacob-wrestling God fights for us, God-of-Angel-Armies protects us. River fountains splash joy, cooling God’s city, this sacred haunt of the Most High. God lives here, the streets are safe, God at your service from crack of dawn. Godless nations rant and rave, kings and kingdoms threaten, but Earth does anything he says. Jacob-wrestling God fights for us, God-of-Angel-Armies protects us.

Attention, all! See the marvels of God! He plants flowers and trees all over the earth, Bans war from pole to pole, breaks all the weapons across his knee. “Step out of the traffic! Take a long  loving look at me, your High God, above politics, above everything.” Jacob-wrestling God fights for us, God-of-Angel-Armies protects us.

There is a band call Sons of Korah that sing the Psalms and it is amazing how the Psalms go in when they are sang, well worth checking out.

We are looking for a small team of people to help with Orphans Aid International annual Street Appeal. Council approval has been given for next Saturday 12 March. Orphans Aid

International is a Charitable Trust founded and run by people who care about the marginalised and disadvantaged amongst us. We need three or four people to make this happen; there is a sign-up sheet in the foyer.

Our 10.30am Wednesday Reflective Service  changed from 10.30am to 11.00am last Wednesday. The first of our monthly lunches will be held and over 20 people attended and enjoyed time together. The next Out to Lunch Community Lunch is Wednesday 6 April.

On Thursday, we held our Special Meeting to discuss and vote on the Motion to sell the Vicarage house and land to the City Council. After some robust discussion, the decision of the meeting was in favour of the motion.

At 7.00pm next Saturday 12 March the Banquet in the Garden Missions fundraiser dinner is on. It is organised each year by one of the home groups. This has always been a great night out and a lot of fun so get a group together and come along.

Yours in Christ

Philip
