Good morning and a warm welcome to all. If you are visiting with us today, we would love to get to know you. Please feel free to stay for a hot drink after the service.

There will be a lot of people away today over at Convergence Camp at Kaiteriteri. Whether you are at here in Stoke this morning or at camp we are the body of Christ and God is with us.

A note on what is happenning with the youth this term… The Nelson/Waimea combined youth night  will be known as ‘The Sauce ‘and is a fortnightly regional youth night. The programme launches Friday 4 March, and will be held at St Barnabas. It will run from 7.00pm – 9.00pm term time for youth in Nelson / Richmond / Brightwater / Wakefield parishes. Each parish will host a social night per term. Nelson Youth Assistant, Nathan Hughes will head up a team of volunteers including local youth leaders. Charge (younger leaders) Nights will involve some hanging out space, games, a short talk, music and food, all in a youth setting.  Parishes / parents will be responsible for transporting youth it’ll be important to have a youth contact person on the ground in each parish as well for this event to fly. New people attending will be filtered back into local parishes via the youth contact person.

Here at St Barnabas we will also be running youth on Sunday mornings during the 10.00am service.  Stephen Tanner has agreed to lead this term. We are still look for a youth worker and would appreciate your prayers.

We have been approached by the NCC about the sale of the Vicarage and land at the back of the Church. There has been a small team of Vestry members that have been meeting with NCC over the last 12 months. We have come to the point where Vestry has approved the idea and agreed to go through the process for this sale to take place. For this to happen we need approval from Vestry, Parishioners (you), the Diocese Trust Board, and finally the Diocese Standing Committee. Information has been in your Pew sheets for the last 2 weeks and there are spare copies  of the information sheet in the foyer. There will be a special Church meeting at 6.00pm Thursday 3 March in the church.

Next Sunday we are back to our normal service times of 8.30am and 10.00am.

Note also that our 10.00am Wednesday Reflective Service will change from 10.00am to 11.00am on 2 March. A light lunch will follow. Monthly lunches will held on the first Wednesday of each month and parishioners are welcome to invite friends and neighbours.

Yours in Christ

Philip
