Good morning and a warm welcome to all. If you are visiting with us today, we would love to get to know you. Please feel free to stay for a hot drink after the service.

It’s good to be back. I hope everyone had some time with family and friends over the Christmas period, had a good holiday, and a good break – sometimes they can be different things!

We spent two weeks driving around the bottom of the South Island (3500km) seeing some of what our country has to offer. There are some truly amazing things to be seen and things to do. We are so blessed to have some pretty easy access to some of the wonders of the world on our door step.

I would like to thank a few people that held things together while I was away. Thanks to Jim and Mollie and Eric for leading on Sundays and thanks to David Featherstone also, who was keeping an eye on everything as well in my absence.

A big thank you to everyone that helped with all the Christmas services, the flowers, brass, cleaning, serving tea – without your help we would not be able to what we do.

February 19-21 is Convergence family camp for 2016. This is a great opportunity for us as a church family to go away together for the weekend, to spend some time worshiping, learning, having fun, in one of the most beautiful parts of NZ. I would encourage everyone to put the dates in your diary, get your registration form and come along for a great weekend away. Places are filling up fast if you with almost all the cabins gone, so get your registration form in today.

There will be some changes in the staff team this year (no Jonathan – boohoo). We are still looking for a part time youth worker and would appreciate your prayers, as there are a lot of people looking for youth workers and there do not seem to be a lot of candidates around. We will also be appointing a person to work in an Older Person’s Ministry funded role, focused on outreach into the community.

There are some other big things happening this year, we will keep you up to date as the information comes to hand. I get the feeling it’s going to be a great year.

Yours in Christ

Philip
