Good morning and a warm welcome to all. If you are visiting with us today, we would love to get to know you. Please feel free to stay for a hot drink after the service.

I have some sad news today. Today we  farewell Jonathan and Lucy. Jonathan came to as about five years ago (still at bible college finishing his degree) to help run our community youth work, alongside House 44. Five years later he is leaving us married to the wonderful Lucy and with their first child on the way. It has been a great joy for me to have worked alongside Jonathan, and to see him grow in both maturity and leadership and faith as he has developed over the years.

There has been many times when we would sit in  my office and talk about the issues that we are both facing and then spend some time praying together, I can’t tell you how helpful this has been. I know the youth will miss Jonathan as they have built some deep friendships and he has been a key figure in many of their lives. This was highlighted when we had the Baptisms the other day.

So today we are very sad to be seen then Go, but as it always is there are new adventures and new ministries for Jonathan and Lucy and today we wish them God’s blessing in everything they do. Thanks Jonathan and Lucy.

Christmas Services this year are 11.00pm Thursday 24 December Christmas Eve Candlelight Carol Communion Service and at 9.30am Friday 25 December our Christmas Day Communion Service. On Sunday 27 December we will be having one service at 9.30am this will be Jonathan’s last service.

Sunday services from 3 January through to and including Sunday 17 January will be Prayer Book services at 9.30am. Wednesday services start again on 6 January. We resume normal service times at 8.30am and 10.00am on Sunday 24 January.

February 19-21 is Convergence family camp for 2016. This is a great opportunity for us as a church family to go away together for the weekend, to spend some time worshiping, learning, having fun, in one of the most beautiful parts of NZ. I would encourage everyone to put the dates in your diary, get your registration form and come along for a great weekend away.

I will be away from the 26 December until 24 January. If you have any emergences over this time David Featherstone will be available.

God’s blessing on all this Christmas

Philip
