Good morning and a warm welcome to all. If you are visiting with us today, we would love to get to know you. Please feel free to stay for a hot drink after the service.

Two months until Christmas, how did that happen? A ‘heads up’ on what we are going to be doing in the build up to Christmas. Christmas is one of the times of the year where we can easily invite people to church, it might be the one time of year that people will consider coming to church.

At 6.00pm on Wednesday 15 December we will be putting on Shine – Carols on the lawn. This is a chance for us all to invite our friends and family, to come and enjoy some carol singing and a BBQ picnic on the front lawn of the church.

On Sunday 20 December we will be having a combined family Christingle service. We will start at 9.00am with a shared breakfast (I will make porridge – I promise!) then we will have the service at 10.00am. Again this is an opportunity for us to bring the family the grandchildren to a fun and family friendly service. There will be a appearance’s from the Christingle orange.

Friday 24 December is Christmas Eve. At 11.00pm we will be having our midnight Candlelight Communion Service with lots of carol singing. At 9.30am on Christmas Day we are having a  family service. So there are lots of services at different times that we can invite people to come to.

Can I challenge you all to start to think and pray about how this Christmas we can be intentional about inviting people we know to come to some of our services. Start to pray for these people that God might use this time to speak into their lives, we will never really know what God might do, but what we can do is to be asking God to move in their lives. Why not spend some time and write a list of people you would love to come and start praying for them daily?

I have heard the youth that were away at Spring Camp had a great time, with lots of fun Activities, times of worship and great speakers. Again can I ask that we all keep our youth in our prayers over the next couple of weeks. Don’t forget the Baptism coming up in a couple of weeks time on Sunday 22 November. We’re having a picnic lunch after church down at Tahunanui Beach, and then we will find some water and baptize these young people. If you would like to be baptized please come and speak with me or Jonathan.

Also on Sunday 22 November we will be having a focus on Missions. As part of the day we would ask that everybody that can bring in a food item for the food bank so that we will be able to give some food parcels to some needy families this Christmas.

Yours in Christ

Philip
