Good morning and a warm welcome to all. If you are visiting with us we would love to get to know you. Please feel free to stay for a hot drink after the service.

Tonight we start the Alpha Course. It is not too late for you to come along; we will be starting at 5.30pm with fish and chips, then we will have the first talk – Christianity Boring, Irrelevant, Untrue and will give people a taste of what Alpha is all about. There is no heavy sell; no one will get hit on the head with a Bible.

We are partnering with Holy Trinity Richmond with this Alpha course and I would love it if you would think about who you can bring. Maybe come along yourself… This is an opportunity for us to bring someone, to be praying for them, and to see what God will do in their lives.

In Mathew we read about some of Jesus’ last words to his disciples. These same words still apply to us today:

Then Jesus came to them and said, ‘All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything   I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.’

        - Matthew 28: 18-20

Are we going to take these words and put them into action?

The Church fair is not far away – well it is a little while away, but we need to start planning. We are having a fair committee meeting at 10.00am in my office on Thursday 30 July. If you are interested in being part of the planning team, come along or come and speak to me or David Featherstone. We are always looking for new people to bring new ideas. The date for the fair this year is Saturday 17 October so mark the date in you diary now. Don’t forget we have a White Elephant stall so you can start to clean out the garage with all the things you no longer need and start to drop them off into the church hall.

The church youth group meeting is going to be moving to a new time of 4.30pm to 7.00pm each Sunday starting 9 August. They will meet in the church hall. Jonathan is away for the next couple of weeks on a leadership course, so if you have any questions please give me a call.

Yours in Christ

Philip
