The Inside Column 12/4

Good morning and a warm welcome to all. If you are visiting with us we would love to get to know you. Please feel free to stay for a hot drink and hot cross buns after the service.

Last weekend our youth and leaders were at Easter camp with 4000 other young people. The good news is they all came back to us in one piece after having the most amazing time. From the stories I have heard it sounded like there was not much sleep happening and a lot of pies being eaten.

Why not take a moment to talk with one of our youth and ask what the highlight of the camp was for them. Thank you again also to the Ladies Guild that helped with paying for our youth to get down and back from the camp.

On Sunday 3 May we are having a combined lunch starting at 11.30am. I know this is not ideal for the 8.30 congregation having to come back to church after their service, but I would love as many people to be there as possible. Although we have two different services we are one church and one people and sharing a meal together is a great way for as to get to know each other. So put the date in your diary, bring a plate to share and come and enjoy each other’s company.

A couple of weeks ago I spoke about Home Groups. If you would like to join a Home Group or start a new Home Group we would love to hear from you. I would like to encourage everyone to be involved in a small group, to have the chances to get together with a couple of other people, to be able to pray for each other, to get to know each other, to support and encourage each other. Please ring the church office if we can help in any way.

The Marriage Course will be running again starting on Sunday 10 May at 6.00pm. I think every couple should do the marriage course, and if you have done the course some time ago you should do it again. I encourage you to invite someone you know, if you can’t bring someone but would like to be involved, you could offer to help one night in the kitchen helping serve and doing the dishes. If you would like to make a donation for the running costs of the course that would be very helpful as well as we are trying to make it affordable to everyone. Maybe you would like to sponsor a couple? Please pray for this course and all attending that their marriages will be strengthened and the course will run smoothly. Course information cards are in the foyer.

Yours in Christ

Philip
