The Inside Column 30/11

Good morning and a warm welcome to all. If you are visiting with us we would love to get to know you after the service. Please feel free to stay for a hot drink.

Last week we spent some time waiting on God, to hear his voice, to experience his love, peace and his truth with us. I wonder how you felt about the experience? I would love for you to share what God was saying to you. Tell me your stories. Let’s continue to spend time waiting, listening and hearing from God.

One person come up to me at the end of the service, and they had seen a very powerful picture. In the picture they had, Jesus was there and he was washing the disciples feet. Nothing
dramatic – just sitting at their feet and quietly looking up at their faces. They described it as a very moving scene.

You may find reflecting on the following passage from Proverbs 2 helpful in understanding how much God wants us to seek Him and how much He wants to speak to us.

My son, if you accept my words
and store up my commands within you,
turning your ear to wisdom
and applying your heart to understanding —
Indeed, if you call out for insight
and cry aloud for understanding,
and if you look for it as for silver
and search for it as for hidden treasure,
then you will understand the fear of the LORD
and find the knowledge of God.
For the LORD gives wisdom;
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
He holds success in store for the upright,
he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless,
for he guards the course of the just
and protects the way of his faithful ones.
Then you will understand what is right and just and fair — every good path.
For wisdom will enter your heart,
and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul.
