Good Morning and a very warm welcome to all. If you are visiting with us today we pray you will feel at home here at St Barnabas. Please make yourself known and feel welcome to stay for tea or coffee after the service.

We read in 2 Corinthians 9: 6-8 these words encouraging generosity.
Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver.
Today is gift day, a chance for members of St Barnabas to think about their giving, both our financial giving and the giving of our time and abilities Today is also a chance for us to
celebrate some of the many good things that are happening in the life of the church.

We are blessed to be able to continue to reach out into the Stoke community through the community youth after school programme running three days a week and two evenings. We have received a grant from ACCT for the community youth work of $20.000 for next year. This is a great blessing and will enable us to keep Jonathan through to the middle of next year.

We had a very successful Marriage Course with some very positive feedback from participants. We have a strong presence in the rest homes through our staff (Angela Galbraith and Marianne James) who along with a number of loyal parishioners seek to meet the needs of the elderly in our community. Through the food bank we have been able to give practical help to many in need in our community. We have parishioners that are helping run the mainly music programme, helping serve many families, and building relationships.

We have been blessed in the life of the church through all the small groups that meet at different times and places. Small groups are the life blood of any church and we have many different groups from AAW, Ladies Guild, Home groups, Youth group, the Wednesday morning church service, and all the other groups that keep the church running in many different ways.

We are blessed to have great worship teams – the organists, choir, band, and people that help with the technical side of things. We have great worship leaders that bring variety and life to our many different services. We are blessed to have a great staff team and vestry, all working to see God’s will be done in our church and community. There is much to give thanks for.

Today is about reviewing our finances and our time commitment to the church, but more importantly it is also a chance for us to give thanks for all the good things that are happening in the life of our church, to God be the glory.

Philip
