Good Morning and a very warm welcome to all.

If you are visiting with us today we pray you will feel at home here at St Barnabas. Please make yourself known and feel welcome to stay for tea or coffee after the service.

The first church camp has come and gone. We had about one hundred and fifty people come out to Kaiteriteri for the weekend, including about fifty children. The whole weekend was bathed in sun shine and a good time was had by all. Howard Espie our guest speaker was amazing!  He spoke about the Kingdom of God and all its benefits, how we can live out the Christian life by being people of purpose and sharing our faith with others through the work of the Holy Spirit.

We had times of ministry with words of knowledge and healing.Throughout the camp God was showing us his great love for us.

Bishop Richard led us in two Bible studies, one from the Old Testament on the promise of the

Kingdom and one on the Cross of Christ, the work of the spirit and how we need to hold on to both.  The worship led by Victoria was awesome, as people from several different churches joined together in praising God.

There was a youth programme and a children’s’ programme which I have been informed were great fun. All focused on the Kingdom of the living God.

Thank you to all of our people that came to the camp, for all the help with the BBQ on Sunday and all the other help over the camp – setting up, the packing down and the Morning teas.

It was a very exciting and fun – filled weekend, with very good feedback from many people.  We have already booked the camp again for next year. ((Date to be confirmed).

The Church Wardens have met with David Hollingsworth (The Bishop’s Chaplain) and have started planning and working through the process of installing a Vicar. Today and next week we will be handing out a questionnaire as part of producing a parish profile to assist in the appointment process.  The Parish Nominators, Glynne Suckling, Anne Egan, Pam Smith and David Featherstone will be distributing and collecting the completed questionnaires.  Please take 5 minutes this morning before you leave to answer the questions on the form.

Our AGM is 7.00pm Thursday 13 March.  Please check you are on the Parish roll in the Foyer.  All reports and nomination forms are due into the office by 5.00pm Wednesday 5 March.

God Bless

Philip
