The Inside Column 15/12

Good morning and a very warm welcome to all. If you are visiting us today feel free to stay for a hot drink after the service, we hope you feel at home.

Not long to go now… only a week and a half until the big day! I would like to take this chance, hopefully before people start to go away on their holidays, to say a big thank you to everybody that has played a part in the life and running of the church this year. There is so much that gets done without others seeing it and without people having to ask for it to be done.

I cannot count the number of hours that people volunteer for. From Home Communions to the cleaning of the brass the lawn mowing to the readers and sides people. I think it is fair to say that without you, this church would not be able to reach out into the community in the way it does. Thank you all so much and I pray that God will bless you all this Christmas and we will all come back safe and refreshed next year.

Every year we have people asking about service times over Christmas and New Year period. So here it is…

On Tuesday 24 December at 11.00pm we have our Christmas Eve Candlelight Carol Service with communion. On Wednesday 25 December at 9.30am we have our Christmas Day Communion Service with a Christmas Morning Tea to follow. On Sunday 29 December at 9.30am we have our Year End Celebration Service.
Our New Year Services are at 9.30am only on Sunday 5, 12 and 19 January. On Sunday 26 January we return to our usual programme of two services at  8.30am and 10.00am.

All details will be on the website:

Don’t forget to sign up for the upcoming February church camp at Kaiteriteri. There is only dormitory accommodation in cabins left. Of course there is still plenty of camping sites, both powered and non-powered. We already have nearly 100 registered – so get in quickly!

The church office will be closed from the 24 December until 21 January 2014. Marianne James and Jonathan Wasley will be looking after any emergencies over this time. Their phone numbers are on the back of the pew sheet and will be on the answerphone message.

Again wishing you every blessing this Christmas

God Bless
