Good morning and a very warm welcome to all.

If you are visiting us today we hope you feel at home and can stay for a hot drink after the service.

Well here’s some good news…Jonathan Wasley is our new Curate. Bishop Richard has asked if Jonathan can do his Curacy here with us at St Barnabas and after discussing it at Vestry last week it was agreed that we thought this was a great idea too.

Jonathan has been working with the youth in our community and with the church youth group for the last year and has been doing a fantastic job. Last Friday night was our youth group fortnightly get together and for the first time they had a bunch of youth associated with his work at House 44 attend. From all accounts they had a really good evening.

It takes a long time to build relationships with youth from outside the church, so I am very happy that we will have Jonathan carrying on this work. He will all so be given some other tasks as well that will help him to grow in his calling to the church. I don’t have to ask that you keep praying and supporting Jonathan because I know that you do and will continue to do so.

I have asked Bishop Derek if he would be happy to run a preaching series called Life after Death. It is a six week series but before I book him in it would be good to get a indication if people are interested in coming along. I was thinking of running this on a Sunday night starting at 6.30pm till about 8.00pm. This is a topic that would be of interest to anyone. If you are interested please let me know.

Remember “the Big Question “tonight at the Honest Lawyer at 5.00pm, it is not too late for other to join us.

A date for everyone to put in their diaries, Friday  5 July is the night we are planning the Quiz Night fundraiser. So start getting you teams together for a great night of fun, and if you know someone that would like to make a donation for the prize table that would be great too.

I hope everyone is fit and well with the start of the colder weather. If you are under the weather and would like some soup, please let us know and the pastoral care team will be more than happy to help.

I pray you have a great week.

Yours in Christ

Philip
