The Inside Column 21/10

Good morning and a very warm welcome to all.

Next Saturday is the church fair, this is our major fund raiser for the year and we need all hands on deck. We have a few gaps in the list of helpers so if you have not signed up for a job please do so today. As the old saying goes “many hands make light work”. We are still collecting items for the White Elephant, the big food raffle, and home baking. Not only is this our major fund raiser for the year but it is a lot of fun and a great way to get to know others in the church.

Please pray that the fair is a success as it will help our church finances towards making our budgeted income for the year.

Next week we also have Grant Norsworthy speaking to us at both services, can I encourage every one to make the effort to come along next week. Grant is a excellent communicator, and a sought after speaker all over the world. It is a real privilege for us to be hosting him.

Thank you to everyone that made the time to come and pray on Tuesday, we had about 60 people come and pray throughout the day and I for one was deeply moved as I spent time praying. At one point someone joined me in the chapel, they simple went up to the hand rail, knelt down and silently prayed for about 20 minutes, you could sense their heart being poured out to God in the depth of their prayers. Moving stuff. I think we should start each term with a Pray Day.

Ruth Maxwell is hosting a women’s breakfast, see the notice in the pew sheet and make sure you put the dates in your diary, and why not bring a friend as well.

Have a great week

Yours in Christ

Philip
