The Inside Column 14/10

Good morning and a very warm welcome to all.

With the church fair only two weeks away we are still looking for helpers, so if you have not put your name down to help on one of the stalls NOW is the time. This is a lot of fun, and the more people that help, the easier it is for everyone. We are running a giant food raffle and we want to fill up a shopping trolley with groceries and Christmas goodies. Can I ask that everyone that can bring in non-perishable food items over the next couple of weeks that we can use for the big raffle.

Now is the time to make sweets and freeze them ready for the fair. Spring is here – a great time to clean out your old clothes, all that stuff that you never use, those old tools and things, and bring them all to the church hall for the white Elephant. Make sure you put the Fair date of 27 October in your diary or on your fridge and bring all your friends for a great time together.

There are fair mailbox flyers in the foyer for you to take and deliver in your neighbourhood .

How are you going reading through the Minor Prophets? Today I will be speaking from the book of Micah. My hope is that as we read through and preach on the Minor Prophets that we will see what they tell us about the nature of God.

This Tuesday 16 October we are holding a day of prayer from 7.00am through to 7.00pm. I would love as many people as possible to come and pray in the chapel. There is a signup sheet in the foyer. All are invited to come together in time of corporate prayer and worship at 6.30pm.

Grandchildren and children back to school this week. I hope you got to spend some happy times with your families.

Home groups start up again this week. If you are not a member of a home group but would like to be, give us a call in the office and we will do our best to find a group that suits you. Home groups are the life blood of any church and a great encouragement to our faith.

On Sunday 28 October we have a guest speaker – Grant Norsworthy, a Dove Award winning and Grammy nominated musician. Grant is an experienced teacher and a much-sought-after speaker across the USA and many parts of the world. Invite your friends and family along.

Yours in Christ

Philip
