The Inside Column 7/10

Good morning and a very warm welcome to all.

With the church fair only three weeks away we are looking at filling up the help rosters, if you have not put your name down to help on one of the stalls NOW is the time, this is a lot of fun, and the more people that can help the easier it is for everyone. One of the things we are going to be running is a giant food raffle and we want to fill up a shopping trolley with groceries. Can I ask that everyone that can over the next couple of weeks bring in non-perishable food items that we can use for one great big raffle.

Now that Spring is here it is a great time to clean out your old clothes, all that stuff that you never use, those old tools and things, and bring them all to the church hall for the White Elephant. Make sure you put the Fair date of 27 October in your diary or on your fridge and bring all your friends for a great time together.

How are you going reading through the Minor Prophets? Today we have Jonathan speaking to us from Amos. My hope is that as we read through and preach on the Minor Prophets that we will see what they tell us about the nature of God.

On Tuesday 16 October we are going to have a day of prayer from 7.00am through to 7.00pm. We have divided the day into 30 minute slots and I would love as many people as possible to make some time to come together and pray in the chapel. There is a signup sheet in the foyer so put your name down, and write your prayer time on the appointment card and take it with you to remind you. It does not matter if there is more than one person praying at each time, and then from 6.30pm all are invited to come together for a time of corporate prayer and worship.

I will be away for a few days at New Wine and Wellington over the next couple of weeks but will be in the office on Thursday and Friday of each week if you would like to talk or would like me to visit please give me a call at the church office.

Yours in Christ
