The Inside Column 30/9

Good morning and a very warm welcome to all.

With the church fair only four weeks away we are looking at filling up the help rosters. If you have not put your name down to help on one of the stalls NOW is the time. The fair is a lot of fun, and the more people that can help the easier it is for everyone.  One of the things we are going to be running is a giant food raffle and we want to fill up a shopping trolley with groceries. We ask that everyone that is able bring in a non perishable food item over the next couple of weeks that we can use for one great big raffle.

Spring is here! It is a great time to clean out your house and garage and sort out your old clothes, the stuff that you never use, all those old tools and things, and bring them all to the church hall for the White Elephant.

Make sure you put the fair date, the 27th of October in your diary and bring all your friends for a great time together.

The big Question is going well with some very lively debate taking place last week at the Honest Lawyer. I overheard a   comment from one of the other tables that Science has disproved God so we have no need for religion these days.  How would you answer that question?

1 Peter 3:15 says  Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect,

I love this passage, especially  the gentleness and respect part. If you find yourself facing this question, there is a great book called “The Case for a Creator” by Lee Strobel that I recommend to you.

The school holidays are here. The prayer meeting and some House Groups stop for 2 weeks and start again from the 15th of October.

We hope and pray that everyone will have a great break and enjoy some time with their families.

Yours in Christ
