The Inside Column 20/5

A very warm welcome to all this morning.

Next week is the combined evening Pentecost service. I would like to encourage you to not only come along but to bring some friends as well. When we read about the day of Pentecost in Acts 2 we see a great out pouring of the Holy Spirit, firstly on the disciples, and then we see three thousand being Baptized as well and receiving the gift of the Holy Spirit.

Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off —for all whom the Lord our God will call.” Acts 2: 38-39

We have been praying for the Pentecost service at the Tuesday morning prayer meeting and it would be great if you can all pray for this event in your prayers this week. We long to see God once again pour out his Spirit on his people for his purposes and for the glory of his Kingdom.

Thank you to the people that have given prizes for the Quiz night. Now is the time to register your team, we have a limited number of tables so don’t delay. There are some great prizes to be won and a great night of fun, so get your tables now.

Good news Jonathan Wasley is going to be with us for a bit longer. Jonathan will start a new role with us as an intern; he will still be doing much the same role of working with House 44 youth and our youth. He will also be exploring his future in ministry leading services, preaching from time to time, and generally being a top bloke! Please do keep praying for the work he is involved in at House44 as he is on the front line and needs our prayers.

Yours in Christ

Phil
