A very warm welcome to everyone this  morning.

Today we are going to be looking at the Spiritual Discipline of simplicity.  This is the last Spiritual Discipline we will be looking at from our series and I think one of the most challenging.  We will be starting a new eight week preaching series from 1 Peter, looking at the theme of  Resurrection Living.

A couple of things coming up…

1. The St  Barnabas Quiz night is happening on 9th of June. We had a great night last year with Richard Currie putting together a fantastic Quiz and everyone enjoying the night.  Once again we will be looking for prizes for the prizes table. We are looking for new items worth over $10 that would be a great prize for someone to win, even a nice bottle of wine makes a great prize. Please bring your items to the office. We need at least 50 prizes. If you have people you know that own shops you can all ways ask them for a donations. We will advertise their generosity. Last year we had a couple of weekends away in peoples baches donated.

The second thing is for you to bring a team, the more people we have from outside the church the better but feel free to come with your home group as well. This event is a  fundraiser for the church with the money going towards the youth community work and other outreach work of the church.

2. Pentecost  Last year we had the most amazing combined churches Pentecost service; it was so much fun we thought we would do it again on Sunday 27 May from 5.00pm to 7.00pm. We will have a shared tea to start the  evening followed by the service. There will be something for the children in the hall so encourage your children to bring a friend. City of light will be leading the worship and we will be focusing on the prayer “Come Holy Spirit “ and all that it might mean. Put the event on your calendar now.

A big thanks to everyone that helped with the  church big clean yesterday.

Remember the Tuesday prayer meeting has started again if you get the chances would love to see you there.

Yours in Christ
